Twenty-two old bangers wrapped in Avery Graphics® self-adhesive vinyls for the new Audi R8 Spyder commercial.

Advertising agency BBH London used the storyline of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to depict the new Audi as the beauty surrounded by the ‘beasts’ – some of the world’s most marvellously beaten-up old hot rods and stock cars.
Twenty-two beasts transformed into star cars
The twenty-two beaten-up beasts were sourced from the US and UK and given to UK-based specialist car-wrapping company Pyramid Visuals. Using Avery Graphics films digitally printed on HP9000 solvent printers, Pyramid Visuals transformed each car using a unique and striking design.
Filmed at Excel, the international exhibition centre in London, the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ story features all the noise and attitude of hot rods. Each car displays its own distinctive design, such as a skull and crossbones, and a crazy mouth with big, sharp-looking teeth, as they drive furiously around, missing each other by centimetres. Naturally, the Audi R8 glides through the carnage and escapes unscathed, looking like the perfect hero.
The Rogue TV crew also filmed the Avery Graphics self-adhesive vinyls being applied to the cars, as part of a ‘making-of-the-commercial’ documentary. You can watch the transformation on the Pyramid Visuals website.
