Avery Graphics on Discovery Channel

14 July 2008

Graphics and Reflective Products Division (GRPD) Europe found a novel way to get the word out about its vehicle wrapping capabilities – a Discovery Channel® program on car wraps.

A Discovery Channel film crew visited GRPD Europe’s Hazerswoude facility last October and, in coordination with GRPD partner Totally Dynamic, filmed the entire vehicle wrapping process from production and cutting of the film to the actual wrapping itself.

The program, “How Do They Do It,” explores the production processes for products we just take for granted in everyday life.  The vehicle wrapping item aired in early April in the UK and in the months after in other parts of the world.

Materials used for the vehicle warp where the Avery MPI 1005 film, overlaminated with our special clear protection film Avery DOL 1030.

The design of the vehicle wrap was a British Union flag. It was appropriately draped over, and carefully fitted around the complex curves of a beautiful British Lotus Exige sports car.

The results are an excellent demonstration of the conformability of our Avery Graphics films -- and what's more, they can eventually be removed cleanly from the car without leaving any sticky residue or damaging the paintwork!
