Avery MPI Polymerics: our customers’ queries…
Q: What’s the difference between the Avery DOL 2000 and Avery DOL 2800 ranges?
A: We’ve partnered our lovely inkjet-printable Avery MPI 2000 and 2800 polymeric calendered films with overlaminates that will protect the printed image for just the right length of time. The Avery DOL 2000 range will safeguard Avery MPI 2000 printed films for up to four years, while the Avery DOL 2800 range is designed as a cost-effective solution for shorter-life coverage (up to two years) of printed Avery MPI 2800 films.
Q: I love your durable Avery MPI 2601 Wall Film – but I’m worried about leaving the printed surface unprotected. Should I overlaminate?
A: Yes, our premium-quality, durable Avery DOL 2000 overlaminates are the right choice for printed Avery MPI Wall Film installations, to protect them from the scuffing and other surface damage which are often encountered in applications on walls.
Q: I wonder whether it’s OK to apply Avery MPI 2040 transparent film using the wet method? It would be easier for large decals…
A: Normally we don’t recommend the wet method nowadays, because the water and detergents used can create many uncontrolled side effects, and for sure extends the time it takes to achieve final adhesion value. However, Avery MPI 2040’s solvent adhesive formulation, developed to partner solvent ink based print on superwide-format printers, makes it a suitable candidate for wet application, provided you follow the rules. Never use more than 1% detergent in water, and always conduct suitability tests prior to the real application.
Q: How long is ‘long-term clean removability’ when we’re talking about Avery MPI 2801 films?
A: Our removable adhesive formulations today are pretty advanced, and are cleanly removable for up to one year – that’s true for Avery MPI 2801.
